Grand Canyon Council offers a variety of camps and events, providing many options for Cubs beyond just Pack activities. Examples of these camps are: Camp Kaibab (Williams, AZ), Cub Scout Day Camp at Heard Scout Pueblo (Phoenix, AZ), and Camp Theodore Roosevelt at R-C (Payson, AZ). Each camp is unique and offers plenty of opportunity to earn skill awards and have a tremendous amount of fun.
Council camps provide opportunities to Scouts which are not available elsewhere in Scouting, as part of BSA safety policies. These activities include things like Slingshots, Archery, BB shooting and horseback riding.
Pack 178 encourages our Scouts to attend Council camps whenever they have the opportunity. The cost of attending these camps not covered through dues paid to the Pack or BSA but Council works hard to keep the cost as low as possible (as low as $40 and up to several hundred dollars) so Scouts are able to create priceless memories through attending any of the camps offered.
